How to Measure Your Skylight
KNOW HOW TO MEASURE
If you have an existing gap measure the inner gap, length x width, at all four ends. If there is inconsistency, take the longer measurements. Consult us, if the gap is on a slope.
In case the skylight is not square, you decide the opening side preferably, turning your back to the windier side. The skylight can be mounted directly on the roof.
If the skylight is mounted on a support wall, the support wall must be at least 9 cm thick.
The skylight support should be well finished and smooth.
If you are making the new hole, you have to take into account the finish of the hole, mortar, plaster etc., discounting the thickness of the material used.
Measure the inner hollow, length x width, at all four ends. Deduct the finishing material, e.g. plasterboard 1.5 cm each side, plaster 0.5 cm etc. That would be the skylight’s measurements.
It is always preferable to first mount the skylight on a well-finished base. For the interior finish, the skylight frame is used as a reference.
We recommend giving a few degrees of inclination to the support base, for the best drainage of the glass.
The skylight can also be mounted on a round hole.
